CHED Scholarship Program 2024-2025 in Philippines

The CHED Scholarship Program 2024-2025 is one of CHED’s Student Scholarships (CSP) in the Philippines. The purpose is to assist incoming first-year college students who plan to enroll in an accredited public or private college, university, or college.

It is an annual competitive Student Financial Aid Program (StuFAP) awarded to students. based on the grades of the previous academic year. All undergraduate applicants are eligible for full-merit and half-merit scholarships. There are 13,455 places for the students to apply for the CHED Scholarship 2024.

The CHED Merit Scholarship Program is open to all incoming first-year college students who wish to pursue their undergraduate studies in any priority program approved by CHED at Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) or State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and local universities and colleges (LUCs).

What is the CHED Scholarship 2024

CHED Merit Scholarship 2024 (CMSP) is a government funding program for scholarships. It aims to support academically talented students, especially those belonging to the following special groups:

  • Underprivileged & homeless citizens (RA 7279);
  • People with Disability (RA 7277); and
  • Solo parents or their dependents (RA 8371).

All incoming first-year students who receive support can apply for support. CHED scholars receive a full or partial scholarship under the Government Scholarship and Private Education Student Financial Aid (PESFA). Financial aid can cover tuition, other fees, and a monthly living allowance.


Benefits of the CHED Scholarship 2024

The selected candidates will get the following CHED Scholarship benefits:

  1. Tuition & other school fees (TOSF),
  2. Stipend/ semester
  3. Books & Connectivity allowance

The scholarship is paid directly to the scholars or through college books & connectivity fees from the semester of a specific academic year to the end of the curriculum.


Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility and eligibility requirements to apply for the CHED scholarship:

  1. The student must be Filipino
  2. Must be a graduating high school student/mall with a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 90%.
  3. The student-applicant must belong to a special group of people such as poor and homeless citizens under Republic Act (RA) No. 7279, Persons with Disabilities (PWD) under RA No. 7277 (as amended), single parents and their dependents under RA 8371 must submit a certificate from the relevant authorities or agencies issued certificates and identity cards (ID).
  4. Only one state financial aid program is available.
  5. Courses must be registered according to CHED’s list of priority programs.

Documentary Requirements

The following is the list of documents required to apply for the CHED Merit Scholarship 2023:

  1. Proof of citizenship: certified copy of birth certificate
  2. Academic requirements:
    • High school diploma for entering college freshmen; and
    • Duly attested copies of the grades 11 and 12 for high school students.
  1. Income Requirements applicable
    • Latest Income Tax Return of the parents or guardian;
    • The Certificate of Tax Exemption given by the Bureau of Internal Revenue;
    • The Certificate of Indigence either from the Barangay or Department of the Social Welfare and Development;
    • A case study report from the DSWD; and
    • Latest copies of the contract or proof of the income for children of the overseas Filipino Workers & seafarers.
  1. Other Requirement
    • Identification Card– Special Group (Underprivileged and Homeless, Solo Parent, PWD, Senior Citizen, and Indigenous People).
