Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Japan MEXT Scholarship 2024/2025 program, the candidate must fulfill the following mentioned requirements:
- Language Requirement: English
- Countries Eligible: Worldwide Countries Eligible
- The country of the applicant must have diplomatic relations with Japan.
- All those applicants who have Japanese nationality at the time of application are not eligible for the scholarship program.
- For Undergraduate Students Only: At the time of application the age of the applicant should be less than 25 years and more than 17 years and must have completed school education.
- For Masters & PhD Students Only: The age of the applicant at the time of applying for the scholarship program must be under 35 years of age, and the candidate must have completed 16 & 18 years of education for masters & Ph.D. degrees respectively.
- Teacher training students Only: The applicant must be under 35 years of age with a graduation degree from a training college. The applicant must have at least 5 years of teaching experience in primary, tertiary, or secondary college in his/her country.

How to Apply for the MEXT Scholarship?
All interested candidates are requested to follow the below-mentioned instructions to apply for the MEXT Scholarship program in Japan:
- Firstly, you need to visit the Japan Embassy (or) Consulate in your country.
- Visit the official website of the Japan Embassy of your country, where below the Education/ Scholarship tab you will see the MEXT Scholarship option, click on that.
- Under the MEXT Scholarship option, you will find a scholarship form that, you need to download and fill it according to your credentials.
- After that, you need to submit the filled form through the Japanese Embassy of your country’s official website, which you have visited earlier and downloaded the form.
