Scholarships up to £10,000 are available through the Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship scheme for full-time master’s study in Wales. Students from Vietnam, India, the United States, Canada, and nations in the European Union are eligible for the scholarships. This distinguished program, which is being given by the Global Wales Program, a collaboration between the Welsh Government, Universities Wales, The British Council, and HEFCW, and is supported by Taith, is the first scholarship of its type in Wales.
The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship is available at all universities in Wales; however, you must have already applied for a spot in a postgraduate degree that qualifies before submitting your scholarship application. Now that you have submitted to all the courses and universities for which you are seeking a scholarship, you are permitted to submit up to three applications to various Welsh universities.
A collaboration involving Universities Wales, Colleges Wales, the Welsh Government, British Council Wales, and the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, the Global Wales program offers a strategic, cooperative approach to international higher education and further education in Wales. Institutions Wales, an autonomous member organization of Universities UK that represents the interests of Wales’s nine institutions, is responsible for managing the programs and activities of Global Wales.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for this program:
- Be a national of Vietnam, Canada, India, the United States, or a member state of the European Union.
- have applied to study a postgraduate program at Cardiff University that is acceptable.
- be considered an international student to pay fees.
To be eligible for this award, applicants must pay their course deposit by the due date specified in their offer letter.
Procedure for Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship
Have applied to study in a postgraduate program that qualifies at one of the following Welsh Universities:
- Aberystwyth University
- Bangor University
- Cardiff University
- Cardiff Metropolitan
- Swansea University
- University of South Wales
- University of Wales Trinity Saint David
- Wrexham Glyndwr University

- The 2024 Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship Program will grant awards from the University of South Wales worth up to £10,000.
- Payment is non-transferable and will be made through a tuition price discount. There won’t be a financial substitute available.
Each year a student is enrolled at the university, they must apply for all scholarships.
