The GKS or Global Korea Scholarship 2024-2025 is a Korean Government Scholarship for international students to pursue undergraduate degrees in higher education institutions in South Korea. The main objective of the Global Korea Scholarship is to create goodwill and strengthen mutual friendship between Korea and the participating countries. The Global Korean scholarship program is one of the biggest and most competitive scholarship programs in the entire world.
The GKS 2024 Master & Ph.D. scholarship accepts applications and associate degree programs. International students from all over the world can apply for the international scholarship program. The Korean Government provides a total of 200 scholarships to students from more than around 150 countries.

Ways to Apply for the Global Korea Scholarship?
There are 2 ways to apply for the KGS program in 2024/25:
Embassy Track
Through the GKS Embassy Track, the Korean Government will select 200 international students for Masters & Doctoral degree programs.
University Track
Through the GKS University Track, the Korean Government will select 119 international students, whereas through the Embassy Track, the Korean Government will select 81 students.
Eligibility Criteria of Global Korea Scholarship GKS 2024
- Candidate must be a citizen of Global Korea Scholarship known partner countries.
- Candidate must not hold Korean citizenship or dual citizenship.
- For the master’s Degree Program or the Associate Degree Program, the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree program.
- Candidate must be under 25 years of age.
- Candidates should be in good health.
- Candidate should maintain a high GPA to sustain scholarship.

Global Korea Scholarship Benefits 2024
- It covers full tuition fees.
- A settlement Allowance of 200,000 KRW will be provided.
- A free return air ticket.
- The admission fee of the University is waived.
- A monthly Allowance of 900,000 KRW will be provided.
- It will cover the fee of 1 Year of Korean Language Training.
- National Health Insurance is provided.
- Korean Proficiency Grants of 100,000 KRW/month will be provided.
- Degree Completion 100,000 KRW Grant will be provided once.
How International Students Can Apply for GKS?

Through Embassy Track
The candidates should apply through the Embassy of South Korea in their own countries. The embassy will shortlist the candidate & ask the candidate to apply to a few universities and nominate as a GKS candidate and will send the nomination to the NIIED. The final selection will be done by NIIED.

Through University Track
The candidates may apply directly to the university through its official website. The university nominates a GKS 2024 candidate & will send the nomination to NIIED, and the final decision is to be taken by the NIIED.
