The Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund (SCSF) was established with the idea that any deserving, driven person should be able to continue their education. For many driven but underserved kids and young adults, the SCSF is essential in boosting college access and success by alleviating some of the financial constraints related to attending, surviving, and graduating from college.
Every eligible student who reapplies each year, from entrance to graduation, receives an individual stipend from the SCSF that is paid directly to the educational institution. It is mandatory for all Shawn Carter Scholars to “give back” by mentoring younger, aspiring Shawn Carter Scholars and performing community service.

Despite several personal and socioeconomic obstacles, such as adolescent motherhood, past incarceration, interrupted education, poverty, and homelessness, they all have a strong desire to seek higher education. They are industrious, resilient, and resolute people who seek to positively impact their local and global communities, and they look to the SCSF to help them realize their goals.

Scholarship Coverages
The Shawn Carter Scholarship covers the following costs for the recipient:
- Tuition Coverages.
- Additional educational costs include books, lab fees, travel, and some living expenses.
- Grant anticipated up to $1500–$2,500.
Eligibility Criteria of Shawn Carter Foundation Scholarship
The candidate must meet each of the standards listed below in order to be eligible for the Shawn Carter Scholarship:
- English is the required language.
- Citizens or permanent residents of the United States are eligible.

- Seniors in high school
- GED-holding students
- Students enrolled in undergraduate programs lasting two or four years
- Students attending trade or vocational schools
- 25 years of age or under
- GPA of at least 2.0
- Income of the household not to exceed $75,000 USD.

How to Apply for the Scholarship?
To apply for the Shawn Carter Scholarship, please follow these steps:
- After April 1st, please visit the official website.
- Start your application as soon as possible and finish it on schedule. You have a better chance of submitting your application before the deadline if you begin it early. Additionally, you have extra time to ask them questions if you need clarification on any step of the procedure.
- Give them a brief introduction and be specific while discussing your extracurricular activities. Until you tell them, they don’t know anything about you. They can better appreciate your greatness if you provide specific details. The same is true of your essay. Although they don’t anticipate a lengthy essay, make sure it teaches them more about you and your viewpoints.
