Eligibility Criteria for Shandong University Scholarship 2025
You must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for the Shandong University Scholarship:
All nations worldwide, with the exception of China, are eligible.
Age and degree requirements:
For bachelor’s programs, applicants must be under 25 years old, have completed high school, or have an equivalent qualification, and be under 35 years old; for master’s programs, applicants must be under 35 years old, have a bachelor’s degree, or have an equivalent qualification, and
Candidates for Ph.D. programs must be under 40 years old and possess a Master’s degree or an equivalent credential.
Have a strong background in scientific research and a stellar academic record.
During the time the applicant is receiving the SDU Scholarship, they are not eligible to receive any other Chinese government-funded scholarships.
Language requirements: When applying for bachelor’s programs, candidates must have scored at least 210 points on the HSK 4 exam; for master’s programs, candidates must have scored at least 180 points on the HSK 5 exam;
When applying to Ph.D. programs, candidates must have scored 180 points or higher on the HSK 6 exam. For courses that are taught in Chinese:
For courses that are taught in English
American, British, Canadian, New Zealand, and Australian native speakers of English.
To demonstrate their English competence, English speakers must present their IELTS (6.0 or higher), TOEFL (80 points or more; MyBest Scores are recognized, and the DI code for Shandong University is C296), or other comparable certifications.
It is not necessary for English speakers who have earned the highest degree or diploma from an institution where English is the primary language of teaching to submit their IELTS or TOEFL results. It is necessary to present official documentation attesting to English being the language of teaching.

How to Apply for the Scholarship Program?
To apply for this scholarship, kindly adhere to the following guidelines:
To complete the application, qualified candidates must sign in to the SDU Online Application System for International Students (http://www.apply.sdu.edu.cn). The Shandong University Scholarship for Outstanding International Students electronic application form needs to be completed in either English or Chinese. The applicant must sign the application, scan it, and upload it to the system. Postal applications on paper will not be required.
