The Italian Government Scholarship 2025-2026 invites international students to apply for the fully fund scholarship to pursue a master’s or doctoral degree in the best universities in Italy. This scholarship covers a monthly fee of 900 euros, tuition, and health insurance.

Health and Medical Insurance

Scholarships are covered by MAECI Health and Illness/Accident Insurance for the duration of the scholarship. Insurance cover does not apply to events caused by existing physical or pathological conditions.

Tuition Fees

Scholars may be exempt from registration and tuition fees depending on the university’s policy. Exemption is not granted for Italian language and culture courses for which a registration fee is payable.

Financial aid

Grantees will receive a monthly stipend of 900 euros every quarter, which will be paid into their Italian bank account.

Eligibility Criteria for Italian Government Scholarship?

The eligibility criteria for the Italian Government Scholarship for International Students are as follows:

  3. Applicants for MA/Higher Education in Art, Music, and Dance (AFAM) Programs/ Italian Language and Culture Courses must not be older than 28 years before the deadline of this offer, excluding extensions.

  5. Candidates for doctoral studies must not be older than 30 years old by the deadline of this call, except in case of extension.
  6. For courses taught entirely in English, proof of Italian language knowledge is not required.

  10. Applicants for Italian language and culture courses must submit a certificate of Italian language proficiency. The minimum level is A2 in the framework of the European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR).
  11. To be admitted to AFAM Italy, applicants must meet the admission requirements and academic qualifications confirmed by the respective university/institute.
  12. To obtain a PhD in Italy, applicants must meet the admission requirements and academic qualifications established by the university; they must also send a letter of acceptance on behalf of the relevant Italian university.
  13. For academically controlled research, grants can be awarded to research projects carried out in Italian research institutions (i.e., Italian Research Council – CNR, Italian National Institute of Health – ISS, Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics – INFN, Italian National Institute). astrophysics – INAF, Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research – ISPRA) under the academic supervision of public universities or museums and archives.
