Cornell University Financial Aid for International Students gives the following benefits to the recipient:

  • Financial help is provided to accepted international students who have applied for financial aid and proven financial need.
  • Tuition fees and other academic education expenditures will be [partially/fully] waived.
  • A daily living allowance (stipend) will be provided.
  • Medical insurance will be provided.
  • The costs of purchasing literature will be covered.
  • Access to the University’s licensed software and library will be provided.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for Cornell University Financial Aid for International Students:

  • English is the required language.
  • All countries in the world are eligible.
  • All applicants must take the same tests, such as the SAT or ACT.
  • To demonstrate financial need, applicants must complete and submit the CSS profile.
  • Applicants must provide a minimum TOEFL IBT score of 100 or an IELTS score of 7.
  • You must study two SAT courses of choosing in the arts, sciences, and engineering, although math is required for engineering.
  • Depending on your college or major, you may be required to take a SAT subject exam.
  • The SAT subjects test is not needed for any of the other majors.
  • Submit at least three years of high school transcripts.
  • Official transcripts and certificates must be obtained and translated.

  1. Create an account on CommonApp first, then fill out the application and submit all the required information.
  2. In my College Tab, look for the University.
  3. On the Common App tab, answer the application questions, which include the following.
  4. Fill up your profile with your personal information, contact information, citizenship, and so on.
  5. Fill up your family details.
  6. Fill out information about your high school, universities (if applicable), accolades, and courses.
  7. Tests and activities were completed.
  8. Writing: create a personal statement of no more than 650 words.
  9. Use this application checklist to ensure that everything is in order.
  10. An application fee of $80 or a fee waiver is available.
